Today Greens MLC Sylvia Hale will launch the Randwick-Botany Greens 2004 Council Election campaign at the contentious Dudley Corner site in Maroubra Junction.
The Greens have chosen the site to highlight their concern for preserving heritage significant buildings in the Randwick City Council area.
Ms Hale helped win a crucial battle for the Greens in State Parliament last week when the Government was forced to withdraw legislation that would have allowed for the redrawing of Council boundaries and forced changes to the voting system for elections.
Present with Ms Hale will be the Greens candidates for North, East, West and Central Wards.
These being:
North Ward -Margaret Woodsmith, a retired businesswoman from the retail industry.
East Ward - Murray Matson, an eight year veteran sitting Randwick Councillor.
West Ward -Bradley Hughes, an information technology expert and local light rail enthusiast.
Central Ward -Clare Raffan, an elected United Services Union official (USU) and a qualified arborist and landscape technician.
