Randwick's At Risk Youth Project Moves Forward in Lexington Place

home

Last Tuesday Greens Councillor Murray Matson thanked fellow Councillors after they voted to fund a range of Kool Kids and Shack Youth Service programs in the Lexington Place area.

The project was initiated in a Mayoral Minute by former Mayor Bruce Notley-Smith in May 2009 after Cr Matson proposed that $20,000 be set aside for an “at-risk youth program” in Lexington Place.

Cr Matson stated,

"The finalisation of the project demonstrates that Council has an ongoing intention of supporting social initiatives in Lexington Place. I am also hopefull that my fellow Councillors will also agree to fund another busking competition this year in the shopping strip as they did several years ago."
