In December Councillors from all three parties met in a strategy meeting initiated by the General Manager and gave him a direction that we all wanted parking meters for demand management purposes.

Labor Councillors, Daley, Bastic, Andrews, Procopiadis and White, have now lodged a motion to go to the next meeting on this matter.

This sees Labor moving into a closer public alignment with the Greens and Liberals.

The motion states that Labor wishes that a:

"Randwick Strategic Plan for the implantation of parking meters be brought before Council whereby all residents and ratepayers of Randwick be given exemptions from the application of parking meters regardless of the location of the parking meters and regardless of where the resident lives."

This is a major step forward.
