Randwick Greens Councillor Murray Matson is calling on Labor MP Paul Pearce to arrange for the NSW Planning Minister to release the concept plans for the Coogee Bay Hotel site to the public.
The call came ahead of this afternoon’s planned media event at Coogee Beach by local activists.
Councillor Matson does not accept that the Coogee MP can not intercede to force the government to release the plans.
He said today,
“Coogee residents have a right to know the exact details of what plans the State Government has before it – and the local Labor MP Paul Pearce should be releasing them as a matter of transparency.”
COUNCIL URGENCY MOTION ATTEMPT
Cr Matson will ask other Councillors to allow him to move an urgency motion at tomorrow night’s Randwick City Council meeting to make publicly available whatever plans the Council currently has access to.
Last month Green Councillors successfully moved a motion that the State Government be made aware that Randwick wanted the present 12 metre height limit applying to the hotel adhered to in any redevelopment of the site.
