Greens Welcome 69% Community Satisfaction Result for
Randwick City Council Administration
Randwick City
Council's Greens have welcomed the results of the Council's latest
satisfaction survey results.
The Council has achieved an
impressive 69% overall approval rating from residents.
This
compares favorably with the average 65% achieved by other Councils
surveyed by the same company over the last 2 years.
The last
survey taken under the previous Labor administration revealed only a
55.4% approved of the Council.
Respondents registered highest
satisfaction with Council's approach to: beach facilities, community
safety, protection of bush land, tree preservation and public health
& safety, beach cleaning, and town center cleaning.
Respondents
were less satisfied with: maintaining roads, maintaining footpaths,
attractiveness of town centers, response time to requests for
service, litter bins and street cleaning.
Former Greens Mayor
and current Deputy Mayor Murray Matson commented that,
“The results show that residents have generally given the new administration an over all approval tick but that they have also have warned us of key areas that we need to focus even more resources on.”
